Panel discussion: A woman's place is in the... Assembly!

A panel discussion with former Members of the Legislative Assembly Annette Ellis (ALP), Giulia Jones (Canberra Liberals) and Caroline Le Couteur (The Greens) as they reflect on their experiences and the difference elected women make to ACT politics.

The ACT was the first jurisdiction to be headed by a woman (Rosemary Follett in 1989) and the first Australian parliament to have women members in the majority. This event celebrates this milestone and the continuing work by the National Foundation for Australian Women to document women’s contribution through the Australian Women’s Register.

This event was part of the Canberra and Region Heritage Festival program, and was presented in association with the National Foundation for Australian Women.
